For responsive and reliable all-terrain performance, the Commander uses Quick Response System (QRS) CVT technology with high airflow and Electronic Drive Belt Protection. Driving modes include Turf, 2WD and 4WD with Visco-Lok† QE auto-locking front differential. Commander XT-P and X mr are upgraded with Smart-Lok technology respectively featuring performance-focused 4WD Trail ACTIV, and 4WD MUD modes.

The dynamic power steering set-up delivers easy, direct speed-sensitive steering assistance, with more power at lower speeds to reduce steering effort and less at higher speeds for maximum steering feel to the rider.
